Woodall also co-hosts the Harry Redknapp Show. Early Life and Education
Roger Woodall’s early life and childhood played an integral role in guiding him down the entrepreneurial path he is on today. Born to two entrepreneurial parents who owned and ran a successful pub business in southern England, he had the entrepreneurial spirit from the word go and exposure to the business world from a young age.
He grew up helping his parents run their pub, and given the fact that it was on the River Thames, he had the pleasure of interacting with people from all walks of life. This made him streetwise and equipped him with the necessary skills to make it in the business world.
By the time he turned 9, he had already set his mind on becoming a kidpreneur, and at the age of 10, he set up his first business. As a smart kid who also excelled academically, he spent a better part of his teenage years splitting his time between school and his entrepreneurial pursuits.
He graduated from secondary school with excellent grades sometime in 1995 and went on to join Loughborough University that same year. During his secondary school years, Dodge played rugby for his school and even played for the Wasps Academy at Aylesbury Rugby Football Club between 1994 and 1995.
During his first three years at Loughborough University, and in his third year at Loughborough, he Played Rugby for the Leicester Tigers Academy, where he played alongside some of England’s Rugby Legends such as Neil Back, Dean Richards, and Serevi.
He spent five very productive years at Loughborough University and graduated from the institution in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in PE and Sport Science.
Entreprenurial Career and the Bournemouth 7s
While Dodge Woodall’s entrepreneurial ventures can be traced to as early as 10, his first notable venture was in 1999, during his last year at Uni. Having noted a demand for parties and events among students, he started the Student Events Company, the parent company of three student nightclub brands, namely Pop Ya Cherry, Bubbleluv, and Fill Ya Boots.
The Student Events Company was active until March 2008, and during that period, it held over 1500 successful nightclub events. In May of that year, he co-founded the Diamond Sporting Group and simultaneously launched the Bournemouth 7s Festival alongside his wife Fleur Woodall, a rugby event that is held on the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
The Bournemouth 7s has grown to become one of the largest and most popular annual sports and music festivals in the United Kingdom, hosting over 30,000 visitors and 400 teams annually.
