Early Life and Education
Shaheen was born and raised in the Lone Star State of Texas. She spent the majority of her young life in Texas, where she had quite a normal and eventful childhood. Coming from a well-off family, she attended the Western Reserve Academy (WRA) in Ohio, which is ranked as one of the top 3% of boarding schools in the United States.
After graduating from WRA, she enrolled at Texas A&M University in 2017 and graduated from the institution in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Business with a minor in Creative Studies.
During her final year in college, she simultaneously interned at RevTech Ventures and the SoGal Foundation. She also received her Rising Leadership Training at Westwood International and her certification in Certified Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy from the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology.
Career
Unlike most people who prefer to concentrate on their studies and join the workforce later, Keila chose to balance both her studies and a job so that she could gain the valuable experience needed. She got her first job in 2018, working as the Director of Marketing at ThoughtSpace, a College Station-Bryan, TX-based company that aims to research, explore, and implement blockchain technology worldwide.
She spent one and a half years at Thoughtspace before moving on to her next job, working as a brand manager at Venmo and JBL Professional. Her tenure at Venmo only lasted 6 months, while her tenure at JBL Professional only lasted 6 months.
After graduating from college, Keila got a job working as a TikTok content strategist at the Goodfair thrift store in Houston, Texas, a position she held for 4 months before being promoted to full-time content specialist. She spent another nine months in this same position before moving on to a more lucrative job at TikTok in September 2021.
Keila worked as a creative strategist and brand strategist at TikTok. In June 2021, inspired by the work of psychoanalyst Carl Jung and her passion for helping others, she quit her job at TikTok to focus on her writing career and launch her very own self-help company.
Zenfulnote was Launched in July of 2021 and she has served as the company’s CEO to date. Ms. Shaheen made her debut as an author in 2021 after self-publishing her now-famous book, The Shadow Work Journal. However, her book didn’t become an instant hit but rather became famous two years later, in late 2023, when users who had read the book began talking about it on Book-Tik.
It all began when hundreds of people began sharing testimonials on how the book had helped them overcome mental health issues and change their lives. The posts went viral, and within no time, people began buying Ms. Shaheen’s book.
